Why I don't blame the people who voted for Trump–and why you shouldn’t either. I watched a video a few months ago that was placing the blame of Trump’s actions on the shoulders of each individual who voted for him. It’s YOUR fault we have tariffs and people are losing jobs. It’s YOUR fault families are being separated. It’s YOUR fault due process has been lost. But here’s the problem with this. They did the best they could with the information they had. Many of them were doing their best to make the best choice in what they judged to be a difficult decision. If someone blames me for a choice I made, my natural reaction is to dig in my heels and defend myself. We don’t need more people to be looking for proof that Trump is doing a good job in order to justify their vote. It’s okay to change your mind and to be wrong.
